Sturla is a truck driver and has been an electrician, carpenter, fisherman, metal worker and car mechanic. He heads a political party named after himself which stood in the parliamentary elections of 2013. If elected President, he is explicit that his focus would be primarily domestic: “If I am elected President I will first and foremost focus on the people of Iceland. So many rights are being broken right here and I believe you first have to tidy your own garden before you offer to help the neighbours with their gardening work. That has been my vision since I was born.”
We have attempted to contact Sturla for a personal statement but so far have not received a response.
